Week End (1967, Jean-Luc Godard)

This is an awesome film meant to make the world squirm. Ripe with contempt for the world's evolving fixation with money and material possessions, Godard slaps everyone in the face by mocking the worlds taste for self indulgence. Filled with leftist murdering hippies, and violent upper class capitalist's, Week End takes no sides as it satirizes issues like class, violence, greed, gender, religion, and sex. Meant to annoy, to confuse, to anger, to open your eyes only to make you cover them with your hands, Week End will confuse you, anger you, and maybe even make you laugh. It's definitely a film I will watch again. And again just so I can understand it this time.
